Product Summary
The Inception Nest is a new style of formicarium (antfarm) from Tar Heel Ants based on the Inception Chamber and labyrinth design. This formicarium does not come with a foraging area (optional at checkout) and is meant to lay horizontal on a surface while viewing ants from above. This unique design can only be found here at Tar Heel Ants!
Features:
- 5×7 or 3×6 size (5×7 is twice the size in usable space)
- Hand crafted and professionally designed formicaria, each one is uniquely carved for each order
- Water Towers give a humidity boost when present and are optional inside the nest, up to maximum of 2 for 3×6 or 4 for a 5×7.

Each nest is painted and sealed on the sides for moisture retention
- 1/4″ (small ants), 3/8″ (medium ants), or 1/2″ connection port comes included
- Standard or Museum Glass optional
- Magnetically attached glass using super-strong magnets

Materials of the Inception Chamber are chosen for strength and moisture absorption primarily. The unique blend of materials chosen for Tar Heel Ants nests is our own proprietary blend of four materials used and tested in our previous formicaria such as the Inception Chamber, Mini Hearth, Talus, and Pioneer formicaria. While a handful of ant species will occasionally burrow into over saturated, softer materials this material is proven to withstand these efforts. Some ants will remove the surface coating sand (a good option for them in maintaining their habitats) which is anticipated and intended.
